Our client is a leading supplier of laboratory chemicals, standards, reagents, consumables and instrumentation across many sectors in Ireland. They specialise in technically sophisticated equipment for R&D, life sciences, quality control, process measurement & environmental monitoring across the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices research, Food and Beverage, Chemical industries and Education Sectors. They are currently seeking an Area Business Manager to grow their business across a range of areas within their already strong client base.

Role/Responsibilities:
• To drive and grow sales of all products within your area
• Establishing and growing strong Customer relationships
• To meet and exceed company targets
• To be an ambassador for our client
• To be up to date with all aspects of the position including product knowledge, market intelligence

Main duties:
• Maintaining and increasing sales and profit of our clients products
• Generate sales for a portfolio of accounts and reach the company's sales target
• Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to remain a client-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling
• Maintaining and expanding your customer base
• Maintaining high service levels with existing customers
• Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
• Tender management
• Develop value added services
• Manage and solve issues/conflicts with clients
• Interact and coordinate with the sales specialists and all staff members working on the same account
• Establish budgets with the client and company
• Meet time deadlines for accounts
• Reaching the targets and goals set for your area
• Compiling and analysing sales figures
• Collecting customer feedback and market research
• Reporting to Head of Sales
• Keeping up to date with products and competitors
• Attend meetings as and when required. These may involve evenings and weekends.
• Producing and updating account plans, including Customer classification, and market map.

Education/Qualifications:
The following attributes are essential to the role of Area Business Manager:
• Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience
• Willingness to undertake training and continuing professional development
• At least 5 years’ sales experience in related industry
• Experience in account management
• Ability to proficiently use industry standard IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, etc)
• Ability to cope with pressure and to work to strict deadlines
• Ability to prioritise workload, with excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team
• Ability to work without direct supervision and use initiative
• Ability to manage, facilitate and chair meetings
• Ability to form and maintain good working relationship
• Proven ability in communication and negotiation
• To be entrepreneurial
• Ability to demonstrate commitment to our clients corporate values
• To be committed to and understand our clients corporate values as they apply to your role and the work you do
• Excellent administrative skills
• Thorough and accurate and able to work with attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• An understanding of the concept of confidentiality and ability to work effectively within this
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prepared to travel independently with occasional overnight stays
• Knowledge of financial procedures (processing invoices, recording budget expenditure)
