A Buyer is required to join a highly innovative medical devices business. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced buyer to join an organisation that change the quality of life for patients across the world. Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing and scheduling of all raw materials for use in production to support customer orders.



You will be responsible for:


  • Manage strategic, tactical and operational purchasing, ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained
  • Establish effective communication with various groups such as suppliers and/or plant production department as required.
  • Manages and/or maintains material inventories levels according to inventory targets and drive improvement opportunities.
  • Takes appropriate action in resolving discrepancies in order quantity, price and seeks corrective action on late deliveries.
  • Monitor Management Information System with current lead times and related information.
  • Coordinate and follow up with Production, Stores, Supply Chain and others, as required, to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling and movement of materials.


What you have:
  • Degree Qualified with specific or additional qualifications in the area of supply chain management e.g. APICS/IIPMM certification.


What you need:
  • 3-5 years’ experience of Procurement, Supplier management, and inventory management within a Healthcare or Electronics background.
  • Strong understanding of MRP functionality (Item Master, BOM, Inventory Management, Safety Stock).
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Works with a sense of urgency and attention to detail at all times.
  • Demonstrates Initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills from both administrative and hands on standpoints.
