Our client is a large pharmaceutical company based in Dublin. They are looking to recruit a Formulation Scientist to join their team.

• Perform all necessary formulation development (Pre-formulation studies, laboratory scale studies, optimization experiments) of different dosage forms (Immediate, delayed and sustained release dosage forms) for regulated markets in accordance with Company procedures and documentation
• These activities include, but are not limited to the following: Equipment Cleaning, Set-up, Operation and Batch Processing
• Execute all lab activities in a safe and reliable manner in line with Pharmaceutical GLP/GMP and/or internal guidelines
• Document all work as required by cGMPs on a timely basis
• Executes tasks as directed with close attention to detail
• Monitors Process and with close attention to detail
• Can work independently without constant supervision
• Works well in a team environment
• Assist with all Development activities as required
• Patent literature survey and database search
• Preparation of standard operating procedures
• Other tasks as assigned by Formulation Development Lead
• Abide by all safety requirements as defined by the company

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Environment
• Basic analytical skills (UV & HPLC) required for formulation scientist
• Competent in formulation development techniques and interpretation of results
• Experience in different solid dosage forms manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical technology
• Sound knowledge in wet granulation, Extrusion-Spheroidization and /or Fluid Bed (Wurster) Coating processes and scale-up
• Sound knowledge of In-process testing (e.g. Flow characteristics, PSD, D.T, Hardness etc.) in development of solid dosage forms
• Excellent attention to detail, communication and team skills
• Master degree in pharmaceutical sciences/technology discipline is desirable
