My client is a leading global pharmaceutical company with a strong presence in Ireland. They are seeking a Medical Advisor to join the team. This person must have excellent knowledge of the the Oncology / Haematologytherapeutic area.

Reporting to the medical director, this is a critical middle management executive position within the company and offers strong career prospects and a high level of responsibility and autonomy.

Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership (25%)
Contributes drafts and executes franchise.
Is responsible for scientific knowledge Management.
Translate information into knowledge / Gives strategic advice on company drugs and competitors.
Interact with Scientific Leaders and provide support to Sales force for key products
Conduct local advisory Boards
Collect customer needs from KOLs and provide to local units
Attend regional, national, international, scientific congresses
Provide responses to questions from local customers not developed by global or regional
Support Business Practice and Compliance Officer in review of complex med info queries

Clinical Trials (25%)
Support Clinical Research with respect to the relevant documentation
Provide suggestions for clinical research (investigators, objectives, design, sites, studies)
Manage Budget for local studies
Manage Epidemiology study/registry
Undertake and manage any local trials (note: monitoring should be outsourced)
Implement investigators relationships management

Internal Support (25%)
Support New Product team
Support HTA assessment
Provide scientific support to achieve marketing / strategic objectives
Facilitate the inclusion of company products in hospital formularies and in local Therapeutic Guidelines
Support reimbursement by demonstrating the added clinical value of company drugs.
Participate in strategic defence of company products with key decisions makers
Support company / products in the relationships with local media (Press, TV and radio)
Advise legal department on the legal inquiries on our product
Provide sales reps. with information on new studies, competitors, issues etc.

Medical Review (10%)
Limited review of regionally developed materials to ensure compliance with local legal regulations, to customized local materials and to locally developed customer materials
Support Business Practice and Compliance Officer in review of complex approval issues

Regulatory & PV (10%)
Advises Regulatory Affairs on the Medical and Scientific Aspects of company products.
Securing tracking and reporting of pharmacovigilance
Compliance (5%)
Must ensure compliance with the relevant metrics specific to this role
Individual & explicit compliance responsibilities will be specified within the relevant planning policy guidance notices.

Education and Skills
-Medical Doctor (essential)
-Excellent communication and people skills
-Experience within the Oncology / Haematology therapeutic area
-Knowledge of medical restrictions imposed by Regulatory/Government agencies
-Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, academia or clinical research
-This position develops and administers a budget related to clinical trials
