Our client is a leading distributer of healthcare capital equipment & consumables. They are currently seeking a Sales Manager to join the Healthcare division. Reporting to the Head of Sales of the Healthcare Division, this person will have 7 direct reports, so previous people management experience is essential. The successful person shall ensure divisional targets are met in terms of sales volumes, profitability, and prospect conversion. You will provide mentoring, coaching, and development to sales team, while delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction. A degree in Business/Science is essential along with extensive people management & experience of working in a Distribution organisation with strong Hospital/HSE tender experience. Experience of Salesforce CRM software a distinct advantage.
·Create a high-performance culture within your team through engaging, coaching, mentoring and performance management.
·Ensure team member sales targets are achieved in sales and profitability and work with Head of Sales/Sales Director to ensure strong strategy and pipeline
·Managing and engaging the sales team to achieve the best results possible including expansion of our clients knowledge of competitors
·Ensure your team are actively and consistently using our clients CRM and using data to enhance revenue through strong pipeline and forecasting.
·Working with the Head of Sales in setting revenue targets.
·Continual training and development of all members of the sales team.
·Working on account management plans with the sales account managers.
·Identifying key areas for improvement in the sales process.
·Spotting market opportunities for new customers and seeking out potential new suppliers.
·Attending monthly meetings with other senior members of the business.
·Work with HR on the recruitment and selection for the sales team.
·Attending industry events and conferences to generate new business leads.
·Acting as a spokesperson for the organisation at sales events and conferences.
·Networking with other mangers and external parties to generate new business for the company.
·Monthly reporting on sales performance against budget and reporting on variances via the monthly board pack.
·Participate in internal project teams on sales and non-sales issues.
·Model the company’s values and behaviours.
·Run regular appraisals, set goals, and assess training needs of team.
·Mentor new starters to target.
·Create marketing strategies.
·Manage tender responses in conjunction with the tenders and contracts team.
·Build, promote, and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
·Develop and support strong relationships between suppliers and the organisation using a matrix of relationship contacts
·Other ad hoc duties and assignments as required.
·Relevant qualification to degree level in a business management or science field.
·Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role with a successful track record.
·Experience in the medical devices industry essential, ideally with experience of working for a Distributer.
·Ability to manage a team of sales professionals including, coaching, development, and performance management.
·Exceptional commercial ability, capable of negotiating and executing on significant commercial deals.
·Excellent customer relationship management skills with the ability to manage accounts and build relationships.
·Ability to identify, close and maximize opportunities and develop them to long term business.
·Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels in and outside the company.
·Self-starter with demonstrated initiative with high sense of urgency and commitment to execute.
·Strategic approach to business development taking a long-term view and ensuring revenue growth and development.
·Ability to multi-task, skill in establishing priorities and managing workloads, including ability to work effectively under stress and time pressures.
·Good planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
·Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and colleagues.
