Senior Planner (Supply Chain/Production)
Our Galway based client are currently recruiting for a Senior Planner (Supply Chain/Production) to join their business on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Production & Planning and other key stakeholders to advise on when key resources, materials and equipment are required for the site.

Responsibilities
• Manage the Sales & Operations Planning Business Process to include the key functions, S&M, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, R&D and NPI
• Manage demand review process over an 18 month planning horizon for all customers and product families
• Link with key stakeholders in the organisation on the availability of capital equipment, materials, capacity and financial projections
• Manage all forecasts and ensure that forecasts are used to plan ahead and provide visibility for the coming months
• Develop an MPS (Master Production Schedule) on a monthly basis and manage the conflicting preferences between supply and demand
• Assess incoming customer orders in terms of plant capability and material availability and define the first promise date for delivery
• Maintain the MRP data on the system for assigned products and areas
• To review monthly the capacity loading for the assigned workcentre reporting potential bottlenecks and issues
• Manage, set and control planning horizons and time fences
• Review safety stock levels to support agreed service to Customers
• Review monthly the capacity loading for the key work centres for the coming 6 months reporting potential bottlenecks and issues
• Liaise with purchasing and artwork control to manage BOM changes inline with customer requirements and open orders to ensure that stock write offs are minimised.
• Develop a process to manage short shelf materials are identified and consumed before expiring
• Involvement in continuous improvement projects, utilising Lean/Six Sigma
• Review the current supply chain metrics in place and produce these metrics monthly

Requirements
• 5 years experience of S&OP/ Demand Supply planning in a regulated industry ideally pharmaceuticals
• Experience in demand/supply planning, supply chain, production, manufacturing or materials management essential
• Engineering/Business degree or equivalent industry experience
• APICS qualification
• Advanced Excel, Microsoft Access
• Previous experience working with ERP Systems
• Excellent communication, influencing, numeric and interpersonal skills
• Lean/continuous improvement experience
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Must be a self-starter and ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
