Technical Sales Specialist/Account Manager (Microbiology) – Dublin/Cork

Our client is a leading supplier of laboratory equipment and reagents to the Clinical, Pharmaceutical, Food and Life Science sectors in Ireland. They looking to recruit a Technical Field Sales Specialist to work in their Pharmaceutical, Food and Industry division.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a mix of existing and new accounts across the Pharmaceutical, Food and Industry division and will join an experienced sales team.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Developing relationships with new and existing clients to secure existing business and grow new business
  • Identifying customer needs and proposing suitable products as a solution
  • Communicating with customers through a variety of means, including face to face, phone calls, virtual meetings, email and online
  • Identifying and building relationships with new customers to grow sales
  • Presentation to customers on product features and how a particular product meets their specific need
  • Keeping abreast of trends in the industry, new products, competitors offerings etc
  • Participation in and organisation of trade shows and seminars
  • Meeting regular sales targets and reporting to management on progress
  • Liaising with other sales team members, other departments and suppliers
Education/Experience:
  • BSc in Biology, preferable Microbiology
  • Drive and motivation to succeed in technical sales
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers
  • Strong technical knowledge from previous education or experience in Industrial/Pharma/Food laboratory environment or similar
  • While previous sales experience is a plus it is not a requirement, the ideal candidate will have a good commercial awareness
  • Willingness to travel throughout Ireland regularly, with occasional international travel
