Laboratory Technician (Microbiology & Allergen Science)
Our Dublin based client are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician (Microbiology and Allergen testing) to join their growing team on a permanent basis. As Laboratory Technician, you will perform day-to-day testing operations across dual-discipline facilities (Microbiology and Allergen testing). This role ensures operational readiness, sample traceability, regulatory compliance, and high-precision testing under simulated real-world exposure conditions. This is a lab based role so you will be required to be on site five days per week (Monday-Friday).


Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute standard and customized microbiology and allergen testing protocols in alignment with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ISO 17025 quality frameworks.
  • Flexibly manage daily workloads across microbiology and allergen lab environments based on client project demands.
  • Handle Biosafety Level 1 (BSL-1) and Level 2 (BSL-2) materials, including sample reception, labeling, storage, tracking, and appropriate disposal.
  • Maintain equipment calibration, routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting, escalating complex technical issues to senior scientists.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques, contamination-control procedures, and rigorous technical documentation (worksheets, analysis sheets, and data entry).
  • Contribute to protocol optimization, method validation/verification, and document control within an accredited Quality Management System (QMS).
Candidate Profile:
  • Education: B.Sc. in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience within a commercial CRO, testing facility, or ISO 17025-accredited environment preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in aseptic techniques, sample management, contamination prevention, and basic lab equipment operation.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, strong organizational and time-management skills, effective written/verbal communication, and proactive troubleshooting capability.
