They are currently seeking a strong people manager for a Production Manager role on site full time in their Wexford manufacturing facility.

Reporting To:Operations Manager

Objectives of the role:

This role will be responsible for the supervision of the Manufacturing Department for solid dose and liquids, its operations and personnel. To achieve production targets on a daily basis, within set quality and productivity goals by maintaining a high level of efficiency, skills flexibility, employee morale and enthusiasm with the team.

Due to the importance of flexibility, this role may be required to carry out other duties not defined within this specification.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of employees within the Manufacturing Department to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manage targets in line with planning, business and client requirements.
  • Support the weekly plan to ensure all customer orders are planned, scheduled, monitored an fulfilled on time in conjunction with the Planning Administrator.
  • Ensure all employee relations issues are reasonably, fairly and consistently dealt with, in conjunction with the HR Manager, to include attendance, compliance, engagement, proficiency & behaviour.
  • Manage the time and attendance system in respect of all Manufacturing personnel, ensuring compliance from all team members.
  • Ensure all manufacturing and packing operations are carried out in accordance with GMP ISO9001/ISO13485/ISO14001 and 18001 depending on regulatory and customer requirements, proactively participating in audits and inspections, highlighting and addressing any issues around compliance.
  • Ensure all Manufacturing and Packing staff are adequately trained in GMP, Health & Safety, SOPs and any other procedures and processes, as necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and safety within the Manufacturing Department.
  • Continual assessment of the effectiveness of the Manufacturing Department to include potential continuous improvement programmes.
  • Continual assessment of training requirements for new and existing personnel, to include a comprehensive cross training programme to support business demands.
  • Accountable for compliance with batch record completion, risk assessments, closing out corrective actions and all associated paperwork.
  • Prepare (i.e., inspect, verify condition) all equipment, in conjunction with the Maintenance Team, used in the manufacturing process prior to use to ensure efficient, clean and safe operation.
  • Ensure clear communications are delivered via the tiered management system (TMS) via SQDCP on a daily and weekly basis as directed by the Company.
  • Participate in continual further education and learning & development opportunities appropriate to the role, as directed by management.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources at all times and deployment across the organisation as required.
  • Supply training to new and existing employees in line with business needs.
  • Work to ensure the highest level of teamwork with all departments and contribute to problem solving and idea generation across the business.
  • Any other tasks to enhance the business in line with the role as guided by management.
Education/Experience:
  • 8+ years plus experience in a production environment, in a management role, with a proven track record.
  • Strong education and experience in continuous improvement, with a proven track record.
  • Strong management and decision-making skills, providing excellent people management and communication.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and apply good time management skills.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office packages, including operational data sheets.
