Key Account Manager (Hospital Pharmacies)

Our client is a full service, leading Pharmaceutical Supplier and due to growth within the commercial team they are seeking a Key Account Manager. The successful person will be responsible for delivering the sales and profit targets in targeted hospitals for oncology and supportive care products.

You will be the main point of contact for your hospital accounts, understanding their requirements, addressing concerns, and providing tailored solutions and exceptional customer service. Proven relationship management skills are essential as you will play a vital role in proactively developing and maintaining strong long-term relationships with key customers.

A strong commercial focus is critical in this role, with the ability to negotiate effectively, and work independently and collaboratively in a fast­ paced environment.

This is a key role in the organisation and will report to the Commercial Manager.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and achieve sales and profitability targets ensuring alignment with financial objectives and optimising product pricing strategies.
  • Develop and implement a targeted strategic commercial plan to achieve sales growth in the hospital business.
  • Identify the key stakeholders within the hospitals relevant to procurement of the range of products supplied by our client.
  • Engage and collaborate internally to ensure that correct products are sourced & competitively priced
  • Manage customer updates & responses in a timely manner.
  • Swiftly resolve any hospital queries regarding ETAs, pricing or other product-related queries.
  • Work with Procurement and Customer Support to develop and manage the product pipeline ensuring full and timely execution.
  • Maintain and update the customer records keeping accurate records, sharing account and customer information to support business growth.
  • Work with the Commercial Manager to review and analyse sales data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets and opportunities.
  • Educate, inform, and share information with your colleagues to ensure the business keeps abreast of current trends and products.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships across functional teams within the business.
  • Prepare for each sales call, in advance by analysis the sales data & having a prepared list of desired actions, & outcomes to secure new business
  • Present a professional appearance & demeanor to customers through positive communication, appropriate dress & courteous behavior.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and conferences required including EAHP/NAHPT/HPAI and be an ambassador to build the positive reputation of our client.
  • Working with the QA department to ensure a high level of knowledge and understanding of correct regulatory procedures and SOPs are always adhered to.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the sale & supply of exempt medicinal products
  • Complete GDP training & relevant SOPs
